The ‘M’ Technique® is a way of delivering therapeutic relaxation, anyone can learn this technique, and it is not necessary to have previous training in massage. The ‘M’ Technique® can provide calm to patients, families, and colleagues and is also suitable for the very ill, frail, or dying.

During this workshop you will:

• Work through the specific sequence of movements that make up the ‘M’ Technique®
• Practice ‘M’ Technique® on each other

On completion of this workshop, you will be equipped to use the technique immediately in professional or personal care contexts.

This course will support you to develop the advanced levels of communication skills needed when managing complex conversations and when breaking bad news. Through skilled facilitation, professional actor led simulation, and personalised feedback, you will:

• Identify complex communication issues, e.g., handling anger and distress
• Practice key skills and principles, receive feedback and practice alternative strategies
• Explore the impact on people and their families
• Take away communication approaches to use in any context
